Overview of Project

My father has a pile of WWII propaganda posters that have sat, largely untouched, since 1945.  He obtained the posters by writing to the Office of War Information.  I guess they sent the request postcard back with some posters.
The original request for posters.
I guess the Post Office was not as picky about addresses back then.
They are currently stored in a paper bag. There is no detailed information about what posters are in the bag, or any information about the posters. Further, a pile of posters in a paper bag is not the best method of storage.

The bag containing the posters.
I will archive the posters, taking a detailed inventory of each and use the internet to find out what I can about each one.  I'd guess that a good number of them have never been opened, so I have no idea what I will find.  Further, I will store them properly in mylar sleeves and a box.

The end result, I hope, will be a properly archived collection with some information about each poster. Hopefully this will preserve the posters so that they can last for many more years.

    1. Chris - Thanks for you comment. Indeed, it is a nifty find. I'm glad I had the time to properly inventory and store them so they can be around for a while longer. I like your collection. Especially the Canada's New Army Needs Men Like You poster. The horse / motorbike imagery is very, very cool.
